Stockton Botox, Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane Specialist – Dr. Silverton
Serving Modesto, Elk Grove, Tracy, Lodi

For individuals who want cosmetic treatment but do not want to undergo a surgical procedure, non-surgical cosmetic injectables offer an ideal solution. These treatments can be performed in conjunction with cosmetic surgery for optimal results, but they are also beneficial on their own. As one of the leading Modesto / Stockton plastic surgeons, Dr. Silverton offers Botox Cosmetic, Restylane, and several other non-surgical treatments to Stockton, Modesto, and Lodi-area residents who want to explore the safe, convenient benefits of non-surgical cosmetic medicine.

Botox Cosmetic

Botox Cosmetic injections temporarily relax muscles in the face that cause wrinkles and frown lines. After treatment with Botox Cosmetic, patients enjoy a smoother complexion and a more youthful, relaxed appearance.

The active ingredient in Botox is derived from the botulinum-A toxin, and has been certified by the FDA as safe for wrinkle treatment in the hands of qualified medical professionals like Dr. Silverton. The treatment process is simple with hardly any discomfort, typically taking only a few minutes. Dr. Silverton injects Botox Cosmetic into targeted areas of the face. In the days that follow, facial wrinkles and lines become less noticeable.

The benefits of Botox Cosmetic are long lasting, but additional treatments are needed every four to six months in order to maintain optimal results. Since Botox Cosmetic is a temporary and cost-effective treatment, it is ideal for our Stockton and Modesto-area patients who want to try a cosmetic treatment without undergoing a surgical procedure.

Dysport

Dysport is new from the makers of Restylane and Perlane. It is a direct competitor to Botox. It is also derived from the botulinum-A toxin. It has been certified as safe and effective by the FDA.

Dysport costs less than Botox. Its onset of action is a little quicker than Botox. Both last about 4 months. Both products are mainly used for the frown line areas, and also for the crows feet area and the forehead.

Both products can be used to temporarily stop excess underarm sweating.

Restylane

Restylane is a dermal filler, so called because it is used to physically fill in wrinkles in order to improve the texture of the skin, and also for temporary lip augmentation. It produces amazingly long-lasting and natural-looking results. Restylane is a biodegradable gel containing hyaluronic acid, a chemical naturally present in the human body.

Following Restylane treatment, the skin is smoother and wrinkles are less evident. These benefits last for about six months, at which point the Restylane is absorbed into the body. However, because Restylane binds to water molecules in the skin as it breaks down, benefits last longer with each treatment. Many patients are able to maintain the results for years with just a few maintenance treatments.

Restylane treatment at our practice in Stockton typically takes between 10 minutes and an hour, depending on the extent of treatment. Most people consider Restylane injections to be minimally uncomfortable; however, they can be administered with a local anesthetic if needed. Patients are free to return to their daily routine immediately after treatment, and should see the full benefits of treatment within a few days.

Perlane

Perlane, like Restylane, is a hyaluronic acid based injectable product. Because Perlane contains a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid than Restylane does, it is more effective in treating deeper wrinkles and facial folds. Many patients choose to have Restylane injections for fine wrinkles and lines, and Perlane for more prominent creases. Results achieved with Perlane can typically be maintained with Restylane injections.

Juvederm Injectable Gel

Juvederm Injectable Gel is another hyaluronic acid based injectable dermal filler. Juvederm Injectable Gel can last for up to a year. At Dr. Silverton's practice, Juvederm Injectable Gel is available in two formulas: Juvederm Ultra, for optimum versatility, and Juvederm Ultra Plus for deeper folds and wrinkles.

Kelo-Cote

Kelo-cote is Dr. Silverton's preferred treatment to improve the appearance of scars. Silicone has been shown to improve scars. Kelo-cote is the only 100% silicone product on the market. It comes as a small tube, or a larger tube and also as a spray.

It dries rapidly without tackiness and should be used sparingly twice a day on freshly healed scars for about six months.

Kelo-cote gel self-dries to a waterproof, gas permeable membrane that acts like an extra layer of skin. It helps to soften, flatten and smooth the scar while maintaining the moisture balance and elasticity of the adjacent skin. It has also been shown to reduce the discoloration and itching associated with scars.

Latisse

Latisse solution is a prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker.

Latisse is a once-a-day treatment you apply yourself each evening to the base of the upper eyelashes. Latisse solution is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. DO NOT APPLY to the lower eyelid. If you have a history of abnormal intra-ocular pressure (IOP), you should only use Latisse under the close supervision of your physician.

Latisse use may cause darkening of the eyelid skin which may be reversible. Although not reported in clinical studies, Latisse use may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent.

You should tell your physician you are using Latisse especially if you have a history of eye pressure problems. You should also tell anyone conducting an eye pressure screening that you are using Latisse.

The most common side effects after using Latisse solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients. Latisse solution may cause other less common side effects which typically occur on the skin close to where Latisse is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids.

Tri-Luma Cream for Melasma

Melasma is a skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. Though it affects both men and women, it is much more common among women. Melasma is characterized by dark spots or discolored patches on the face. To treat melasma, Dr. Silverton offers Tri-Luma Cream. This prescription-only medicated skin cream produces results in as little as four weeks for patients suffering from melasma. After several weeks of treatment, most patients enjoy dramatically improved skin color.
